From Oilfields to Healing Fields: A Journey of Recovery and Service

Conrad Delome

Background

Born and raised in southern Manitoba, educated in Pilot Mound Mb. Married there and had 4 children all born there, move to Calgary in 1969, and began a career in the oil and gas industry. I remained in that industry until I retired in 2015.

My live style changed in 1984, I I joined a 12-step program (AA) and had to go through puberty at the age of 41, and a short time later, I was on the board at Alpha House for five years.

Then in 1998 I was on the board of Native Addiction Services until 2002. NAS Changed to Sunrise Healing Lodge, and I joined that board in 2017 and still resin on that board.

I have learned that I get to keep my sobriety by giving back to the people who still suffer from drugs and alcohol.
